Just started a large living room today, the builder and his lad have done most of the prep, im just there skimming.
Its got a steel going through the middle of the room thats been boarded. The customer wants the steel plastering and made to look like an old beam !!!

Anyone ever had to do this before ? i know Warriors done timber effect before with his wallcrete, but not convinced that it would be the right thing to put on to plasterboard, also price might rule it out. So can it be done with plaster, Maybe bonded out first to get it iregular then skimmed roughly :RpS_blushing: and cut the grain in with small tool !! would you be able to imprint plaster ? What about knots ? Quite keen to get this done recon it would be quite interesting, might be going on end of the week if they make a decision so any input would be sound.

Cheers

Wallcrete it mate you know you want too :RpS_thumbup:
You can go on plasterboard with it.

Would i need to stabalize the board first mate ? How much time do you get with it ? feel a bit jack having not done the intro :rolleyes) feel like a chancer lol.

You'll need some of their bonding agent first mate,
then a tight scratch coat.
Once dry you can build it up as much as you want.
Add pigments to the mix to save time later when staining.
You'll have loads of time to do what you need to do to it, hours!
You can use a stiffish brush for the grain, toe of trowel for deep cracks,
Carving tools, knives etc etc...

orrrr until you have learnt how to do it why dnt you just clad it in wood:RpS_confused: rather than trying to do something youve never done before then you can try to learn how to do it on your own time and it dnt matter if you balls it up

They dont want it clading mate. I suppose end of the day if it goes tits up, ill honour it, reboard it and skim it.

Click on their name and 'view profile'............it's in there mate:RpS_thumbup:

Edit: I've just tried to do it on yours and it must be disabled somehow. Ask a mod:RpS_thumbup:
