Advice Needed- Patches on new plasterboard ceiling

I have been plastering for over 15 years now and have never had this happen before. My usual builders merchant changed their supply of boards to a brand called Make Good. The ones I bought were standard 6x3 12:5mm boards. I overboarded the ceiling and skimmed it over with multifinish as I would normally. However. When it dried there are some weird marks on the skim all over the ceiling and on some of these light patches the skim hasn’t adhered. Another plasterer I know has also had some staining on a board he recently skimmed on a staircase of the same brand. Has anyone got any ideas or has anyone had this before?

Never had that. Gives very little confidence in their make good plaster though

Suggest you ask Make Good. Just had a look at the promo videos on their website for skim and hardwall. Interesting, what seem like genuine comments by trade guys at a plaster school, who (obviously) seem to like it. Needs more water in the mix and after, takes longer to set.
Presume the board is made of the same stuff so suction might be the problem, extra dry patches maybe.
Any of the guysd in those videos on this forum? - Gi'us a shout

AHhha, I took down and reboarded a large ceiling yesterday and it has just dawned on me I may have same boards.
The boards had a chamfer at the edges (not a tapered edge) which I thought unusual, it left a small V when butted together which seemed a good idea as a 2mm gap is formed automatically.
I think I know your problem, I will check when I get to work later and let you know.

Yes, that’s what I had with the edges not fitting together very tight, the edges were almost a v shape once butted together.

Knauf board.
Only use BG board as a rule but none available locally.
About three boards out of 15 had bubbles where the paper had come unstuck and I have had to cut it off and tape over.
It may be a similar issue.
I think a lot of old dodgy stock is being sold at the moment.
