Does anyone know what product you would use over painted brick work before putting an acrylic system on ( base coat, primer, K rend tc 15) It's a cottage with a stream 2 metres away on the side that the customer wants rendering. The paint is peeling and flaking in areas and there is also what looks like algae. The roof is thatched and rain water does run off of it onto the wall. Was going to get what paint I could off and even rake out the joints if need be. Would any one know what would be the best product to stabilise and act as a primer for the base coat.
Thanks in advance.

The decking is the problem nothing else.
It will still happen unless you create a gap between that and the wall.

If the property is as old as you say ,might want to check with conservation first ,before you start destroying it with Krend

Yeah it's a difficult one. The cottage does have some age to it. The client didn't say anything about being listed but I'd better ask, cheers Kiethuk ;)
I'm almost thinking of saying I'm too busy and sticking with the internal work, far less hassle sorting out
extra labour, scaffolding, skips etc and then there's the lovely British weather :descansando:
I do enjoy the external work though and the customer wanted one of his other properties doing as well as the gable on this property.
The decking acts like a bridge and a lot of water passes. I can't see any product looking like new after a year on this side of the property.
