Hi guys,

Hows it going? Ive been following the board for ages but finally signed up tonight! If possible, im needing some advise on plastering my girlfriends bedroom. Im not a plasterer, but I did an intense weeks course and im looking to get some experience under my belt. The weeks course was just to see if I enjoyed it, which I did. Now im planning to do a C&G when I get the money! But in the meantime, its still good to have some hands on experience.

Im just wondering how to go about plastering over bare brick. Ive been told to use hardwall and then plaster, and ive also been told to use sand and cement and then plaster...

Any advise would be great...

I have attached some links to photos (as the uploader wasnt working when I tried)

Cheers mate!

Blimey I just looked at that 2nd pic in more detail! I was trying to get a photo of the layers of the wall!....it does look like the sea though!!! haha!

i would hardwall that an skim same day job done wet wall down and hardwall cut it back then skim into exsisting job done in a day or s/c

Cheers for the tips guys. The wall is dry so ill wet it down and use hardwall. Would I have to pva the hardwall before I skim the top coat on? Sorry....im abit of a novice!

Cheers

Ian

its up to you. if you can, skim it the same day. if not give it a wet down. if your not confident with your speed and are worried it might dry to quick then yes pva it.
