evening peps i love the look of this type of plastering and would really like to try it could someone please tell me what i would need to get started?
i.e tools,materials,
i wanna do a wet room so is there a certain one i need???
 
What kind of plaster do you want on the walls. Polished stucco, marmorino, micro cement, paint effect erc
 
Polished stucco I believe just another one I probley know the answer is it easy enough to get to grips with?
 
Everything is easy when our know how. Ideally it it be a three coat application. After a primer coat. Leave each Coat 8 hours to dry nd give a light sanding as you apply the last coat you go over with your trowel to polish up. Once you've achieved your finish you should leave 24 hours and then either wax or seal the finish. Hope this helps. Give me a call if you want any more info. My number is on the website
 
Thanks robjack I've watch a lot of vids on this and seems like I could get on with this fairly easy I have a nice sized wall to start on!
So what type of kit will I need? Can I use normal whisk? Trowels? Etc
 
I only use mirrored venetian trowels. As for a whisk it depends what gear you get. Most comes pre mixed. Some travertine need a quick mix just to loosen it up a little though
 
Lots to choose from. Pavan are one of the big names but not necessarily the best. Search venetian plaster trowels. Smaller ones give more texture detail on a stucco
 
Can you add different colours in different layers to create a multi colour marble type thingy me giggy?

You can but it doesn't always work out the way you think. Try it. Put three different colours on different coats and see what happens

Best to use a stainless steel whisk if you need to mix it. Not so likely to get rust contamination etc in the mix. I dont know what plaster robjack uses but some of the classico finishes ive messed around with get easily buggered by a bit of grit.
 
I agree. Keep everything clean. Most stuff I get comes pre mixed. I occasionally mess around with toners and use a small stainless whisk and a cordless.

I'm booking up a course but am in bristol so gold trowel seems to far to travel any pointers
