had a call yesterday to look at a job. it was in luton, and the guy sounded like a certain type of nationality that doesnt like parting with money. but it was a reccomendation from a job i did a while back, so i thought id have a look and see.
when i get there, he walks me around the house, its empty, all the papers been stripped and he wants all the walls reskimmed. its a 3 bed house, and a big 3 bed. so i thought, oooh, this could be a nice 1. so i say ok, ill go and get the tape and have a measure up. he says, can u just give me an idea of the price. i said no, not really, id wanna measure it up first. he says, well u must have done one of these before, so roughyl how much. i again said i need to measure it. he says, ok, i dont want to waste ur time, so what would the minimum be so i no where ur coming from. i said off the top of my head it def wouldnt be any less than £1500.
he says, hm, well as i said i dont wanna waste ur time, and iv had a better price than that so dont worry about it. bearing in mind id sat in traffic for best part of an hour to get to his house, i was starting to feel a bit p1ssed off. so i said, ok, how much did u get quoted. he said £600 all in. to which i said, well you are wasting my £ucking time, and got back in the van and left.
now im sorry, but if people are prepared to reskim a 3 bed house for £600, we are all gonna be £ucked in a few yrs

Up here in Glasgow they have their own type to do their work because us scots boys are trebble wide! ;D
