I was in today breaking my 'no weekend working' rule.
Nothing to do with Christmas for me, but I suspect the brickies were trying to fit in a little bonus for the festive season. One of them was telling me how he's off to Thailand the week after next. Until the New Year!
AgainDidn't do a bit all week
whats that yellow thing with the handle for?
i would have made some nice planters out of that lot.Been in this morning to finish a few fiddly bits, and filled the van with off its of wood for my log burner
Mainly short bits mate. Would’ve been mosaic plantersi would have made some nice planters out of that lot.
I have been in today.
i have a load of metal to get rid of, off site, non ferrous but quite a lot.
There is a scrap yard about a mile away so i thought i would go down and find someone to pick it up.
Off i went and waved down a random pick up truck and explained situation to driver, he said his phone was dead and so i wrote down my number and gave it to him and he would phone later to arrange picking up scrap.
As i waved him off i remembered that when i was writing down phone number i had put my car keys on his passenger seat.
i now realised my keys were travelling in the opposite direction to my car.
s**t, what to do? i phoned cab, cab took me to work, sent cab to my house to pick up spare key (18 mile round trip} cab came back, took me to pick up car, then took me to cashpoint.
cab fare £48.00!!!
roll on monday.
ha ha, i've had a good run so was due one.sounds like my life
I've got about 20 metres of 100 year old oak parquet.
How to get rid of it?
Charcoal for all clean offcutsi have been trying to think of a way to use it other than as flooring or making something out of individual pieces. @bof
It all has tar on, have used it for bbq though.Charcoal for all clean offcuts
I burn mine up field cooking with wok on open fire , clean goes in woodburner at house , anything noggin length is kept , use everything I get apart from heavily glossed thin bits go to recycling depotIt all has tar on, have used it for bbq though.

i want a useful idea for old oak parquet that does not involve burning.

I'd keep it , possibly use as part of a floor , border panelling raised 10 mm for carpet runner in entrance hallway
