Have worked with guys who just staple their beads onto boards and have worked with guys who would bond them. Which way do you do it and why do you prefer this over the other.

Also this might sound simple but I've never closed of such a thin corner, its just the thickness off a plasterboard. Ive to cut a bit of plasterboard to cover the wallplate and skim it. Its on top of a limestone cottage wall where meets the roof.

Where the plasterboard ends, I can't put a corner bead to close the corner so next thing I can think of is to run a stop bead right along the end and skim behind this or is there any other way you'd do it?

I usually staple on board work , so much faster . Just got to get the nack of where the staples come out the stapler etc

Yeah its nice and fast but like you mention, its getting a nack of setting them. Have worked with a guy who refuses to use nails or stapler and bonds them every time. Alot better to skim to but a c**t waiting for it to set.

Dirty water , the dirty the better if only a couple of beads , ready to skim in 20 mins . Little tip lol on my stapler i scratched 2 lines on the top of it where the nail pins come out line the line to gap in bead and bang :-)

Drywall edge bead is what your looking for. My local B&q stock them yours may do.

Just like on the paint on like the nose of the stapler , one like 5 mm off the left one 5mm off the right . Right where the 2 pin parts of the staple come out , line the mark to the gaps in the bead and ur laughing , once u get the nack u dont tend to look at the marks any more

Depends on how square and parallel the reveals are, as you can only correct the bead in one plane with staple, easily at least.

A plasterer I know uses contact adhesive in an aerosol can. I was a little sceptical, but it seems to work very well, quick to do and doesn't make a mess. What's not to like?

There's loads of ways to stick em, take your pick:

•Skim
•nails
•spray contact adhesive
•staples
•gripfill
•hot glue gun
•ready mixed tile adhesive
•double sided tape
•scrim
•blu tack
•drawing pins
•chewing gum

Or hook on beads.
Do you remember the chap that used duck tape

Staple them however drunk the angle is. If I've to pull it nearly off the edge of the board I staple them still, then when I'm skimming elsewhere I'll just rub a bit of stuff behind to solidify it.

This is of course with 'minimesh' beads which are predominantly used in Ireland. The 'drywall' skim beads more used in uk are more awkward to staple if you've to jiggle the bead about.
Nailing them though is a thing of the past, too slow & don't even mention when its hollow behind the board or if it's a bit shy of the angle.
Take no notice of Danny and his nails, most of you put more beads on yesterday than he has this year [emoji12][emoji12]

Just to mention bought a dewalt stapler from screwfix and it's the best I've had ( had quite a few over the years) lines already on it to show where the staples coming out, fires with big pressure, and with the least amount of pressure on the handle, can be a b*****d to squeeze some when your over reaching!!
