Anyone seen the vid on youTube called artex ceiling over skim by dot and dab. His method is apply first coat then flatten, then second coat, then sponge, then plastic trowel. First time I've seen this method done. Anyone else do this or are they cowboying it a little?

^^^^^^^^^^^shut up you **** he was asking a question, thinking your a big man behind your keyboard

Don,t mind Spunky his got a baby in the house ,not had any sleep for weeks ! how is it going anyway mate ?

I think more to the point would be why are you on here? I'm posting about plastering. You're just posting what you like.

look into his past post before you make that judgement ,he may take the piss ,but also gives good advice ( ok at times )

Good old oasis again !!!

On the subject of using the sponge why does opening up the surface of the plaster aid the trowelling up with the plazzy

ask your self did the finish look good at the end if so then who gives a fook weather he use a spoon to lay it on with the end result is what your looking for

When I done my apprenticeship in 2002-2006. Never heard the word sponge float mentioned. I'm not afraid of new methods jut interested but with some people it'll be hard to enter into plastering debate with

I'm still too shot scared to sponge a whole wall I only uae it to sponge the odd miss or hollow in the later stages just before the plazzy comes out

hes a useless ****

He has been asking us through email for instructions on how to use a sponge for a while. Even posted up some vids. If I was you I would not be follow that video as a gospel method as its about the third time he's ever done it. Was helping him out but a few trusted friends advised he's a bit of a cock.

On the subject of using a sponges. It is not a method to use to replace 2 coat work on shitty substrates. You need the first coat to give you a better surface for you final top coat.

We now only sponge on problem walls but I that's because the board work is very good and the speedskims get the wall flat and rib free when still very wet.

oasis has no idea what he is doing. all he does is ask everyone a million questions, then make a video of him doing it and puts his new sign written van in it and some G** music to make himself look clever
