artex qiuck start

just noticed in aprevious post tony mentioned using it ..any one know where to buy it was it used for[ is it caulking etc]would ask artex hq but fell out with them big time 18 months ago and since then been using wondertex premier5 , cheers
 
ICI Decorator Centres or Leyland Decorator Centres generally keep it.
It was developed so you could tape, caulk and texture in one day rather than the traditional 2 day artexing process.
 
cheers tony i had aiways used artex ax to caulk over previosly artexed ceilings buiding it up 3 coats then apply pattern with final thinner mix ,bout 18 months ago local suppliers just supply artex finish started using this [hot water etc same as before when it drys it splits .done me head in phoned em up a few times some bird just fobs us of then says some bloke will be in touch been still waiting plonkers i use about 5 bags min week in week out £15 a bag so been using wondertex since only £11 abag thanks again tony
 
I thought that Artex developed Smooth It for going over previously artexed ceilings. Heard it was just Easifill rebagged and cheaper too.
 
tried smooth it acouple of times but dont know if you can apply artex over it did ask them but like i say no reply,smooth it is really light stuff applied it with caulker 3 coats got it fairly flat then got trowel on it with water spray customer was happy with it but it wouldnt be any good i dont think for walls
 
good luck with the artex mate ........didnt this stuff cover woodchip too?..............whats stopping it blowing ???
 
Skimmed quite a few ceilings where the customer had bought some smooth it to get rid of artex & bodged it up themselves ha ha show me the money thanks smooth it ;)
