How do you guys re-skim artex with coving in place without losing the profile and scraping the ceiling? I've always scraped but been ignorant of asbestos, thought that was long gone.

Overboard and redo the coving
...safety in mind:RpS_biggrin:..........

...or wet it, scrape it (mask on)... and skim it ,, to keep the cove:RpS_cool:....

Non safety method:RpS_scared:...

..or ultra safe.....run away and tell them to get it tested :RpS_thumbsup:......

the decision is yours

Yeah, not everyone is willing to pay for coving to be redone, its a difficult one, money or health? !

Nicely answered :D

Just done a plastering job: stripping off 50m of ceiling coving and three ceiling roses, chiselling off old plaster high points, reboarding patches, plastering perimeter where plasterboard exposed and ceiling rose area, pva all ceiling areas twice, then plastering over existing artex in two coats. One room 12sqm, hallway 20sqm, and lounge 30sqm. This took two plasters and a labourer four days, client thought this to much time. Was he right.

Sounds like a lot of work, people always have unrealistic time frames, no point rushing and doing a crap job.
