so do they cut deep in to render of just do the thin block lines? sorry im on an info mission

essex drywall or penlaws sell the proper ashlar saws their the best to use for square cuts and a lot quicker, the other one is best for detailed cuts, you can make them by getting a bit of metal brick band and bending it around a bit of thin timber, made a few of them and they work great

them angle planes what materials are they for?
we used to use em on the one coat gear , used to put that much on with machine sometimes our angles used to suffer a bit so the day after we would check em and plane em up if there were any bumps or wobbles then a quick polish with a trowel job done, also odd occasion when i've roughed a room on and rubbed up go round with plane in angles makes em nice an sharp (well sharper) Handy tool to have mate, Or if you have to follow any southerners and need to tidy up their work (happens all the time ::)) you can plane back all the lumps and bumps in their hardwall etc and skim up ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;) ;)

As warriour said these tools are for one coat only mostly machine applied but you can do it by hand if the area is not to big as for ashlar cutters aint got a clue thought that was something from the past, Ashlar pattern is a random stone pattern sometimes reproduced in render, just make one yourself depending on size of joint we used to use a bent 6inch nail up to a piece of half inch coppper pipe but must admit havent done it for years so maybe some one makes these tools now.
