Hi,
I'm just putting up the stud walls and door frames in an extension and have a question about the door lining and how it joins with the plasterboard. I'm trying to avoid bringing the door frame out from the wall too much and having to put an architrave down that side of the door.
Should I use some timber to bring the door lining 25mm out from the wall and then the plasterer will bring out the plasterboard to the edge of the door lining? I'm planning on using 25mm back boxes unless suggested otherwise. See attached photo for a pic of what I mean. I'm assuming the plasterboard will be secured using the dot and dab method onto the block wall.
Or should I just bring the door out 100mm or 150mm and just have an architrave all the way round?
Cheers,
Carl
