need help men, pricing up of a 17th century house made of stone construction, what can i use? i know the best way would be Lime plastering, i have already gave a price which they nearly fell over when i presented it to them, which i can understand if 'im honest i mean nearly 2k just for the mats using Izonil on a kitchen all being fairly big one.
they also want a solid wall construction (haha yeah i bet you do but you dont want to pay for it!!)

So can i use S and C with a good waterproofer?
drycoat?
hardwall?
renovation plaster?
metal stud work fixed to the wall and tanked or no tank?

i am tempted to just leave them to it to get another spread who will just come in a hardwall/skim and leave them with walls that will no doubt become damp. bodge it and scarper!

cheers Ben:RpS_cursing:

Problem is I personally want the job, will look great on the portfolio, big old 17th century building with exposed beams all over

I would advice a damp company look at it , on the understanding you will be doing the plastering ,and follow their spec ,

Sbr and sand cement If I were you I wouldn't worry about their house just take their money

I with ya there that's exactly what I'm gonna price, spoke to the fella I use from Soverign and he reckons there additive will let it breath

Some people hey!! I spent an hour and a half educating them on what and why we do stone walls single skin a certain way.

F**k em :RpS_thumbup:

Jeez didn't expect to get this job...

went for modern mats route so I can't guarantee it hey ho the customer get what the customer want/can afford lol, wll no doubt have the rest of the house also, things are looking a little better thank fook

You can use s and c with a water proof additive but also add anti crack fibre in the mix. Always worked well for me. It helps if the stone work is bit rough and stops slumping but dont over do it with the water and yes pva first.

Will be doing s and s with Soverign additive, what's this fibre? How much? Just the base coat? Don't know whether I will be pva ing or just wetting down as Soverign additive helps breath apparently, so don't want to seal it with pva...
