Just a little reminder for everyone , doing a kitchen re -spray today , sparks have been in and moved all the sockets around ,left them tucked in nice and neat cooker cable also was moved , old cooker cable was hanging down from the cove no tape on or in a junction box, so i had a quick look at the fuse board electrical tape over the cooker rcd , got my snips to remove the redundant cooker cable and "bang" lights go out shock right up my arm and blows the top of my snips to bits. Unknown to me the rcd switch was still on underneath the electrical tape lucky or what , the customer phones the sparky up and he turned up in about 15 Min's really sorry mate , he reckoned cause I'm left handed and i started to cut the cable from left to right it wasn't that bad ::) and the fact the snips had plastic handles i was lucky , so take it easy out there lads .

Thanks lads , told the Mrs she didnt seem that bovered ::) gone for a hair cut and left me with the washing up :'(

You just can't trust those bloody sparks, they're all supposed to be qualified and yet I've been done three times like you Church, spoilt my favorite pointing trowel :(. Anyway glad you survived we don't want to loose any decent spreads they're rare enough as it is :D

Don't know if it's a really common occurrence for most spreads on here but we do get that quite a lot , especially on the domestics, sparks say no power to them mate , and then wallop , my lad's gettin cheesed off with it

Had it a few times over the years but realy f**** you of when it takes a lump out of your best finishing trowel.
Lucius.

Had it loads, take no ones word for it! I've got a fancy detector which buzzes n lights up when a current is detected, you just got to touch the plastic sleeve of the cable, great for finding breaks in cables too! Life saver!!!! ;)
