she has mate at least i did the good thing and let her carry on before telling her ill over board it ;D.........its thick sort of soft to the touch stuff ive never seen it before but its got a backing to it if that makes sence thats a few mm thick and thats whats screwing us, ive never seen it before and im a bit wary of skimming over it

hi there, im pretty shore all new builds by law must be aqua panel around the bath or shower area, also very expensive, if your not a new build i would just get normal plaster board and tape and join if not multi nicer job done....hope this helps :-\ :-\

don't think you can get 9mm moisture board anyway.
might be worth putting a drywall sealer (or some thing cheaper) on it once it's been taped.

leaving the paper on is going to limit you,,as you say your not going to be able to skim over, no d&d.
so battens or knock off may be your only option.
if you don't want to skim the board then its a bit risky not using moisture board, in a moisture area,
ok bathroom paint will be ok for a bit but always will eventually fail.
if its just the one wall, personally in my own home i would if not remove the paper and skim, remove hack off dry-coat and skim easy days work and you know its going to sound for a long time ;)

b & q take the piss but that's the stuff.
I've never had to pay for the it tubs have just found their way to my van but i think you'll be looking max £30 if you've go to Sheffield Insulations,CCF or similar.
I don't know of an alternative,Knauf and Lafarge both make it as well so maybe a bit cheaper.
It'd piss me off having to pay out for it when you won't even use a quarter of it.
Oh and the Gyproc sealer is easier to apply if you dilute it by 10%.

i should've said two coats in a bathroom.
just had a look at a tub and it says 'apply two for vapour control of at least 15 MNs/g' whatever that means?
it also says not to dilute but i always have even on 'prestige' jobs with no comeback.

I think you are making to much work out of it mate, you can buy a tool that scores the paper give it a good soaking with hot water and fairy liquid then get the steamer on it it will come, before you do this try carefully to get a scraper behind the paper sometimes with care you can peel a lot of it of dry.

Spunks some 1970-80's papers have a vinyl back thats apperas to be water proof i.e wont budge under steam or water. Its bright white in colour under the top coat and usually found on very thin type papers often that imitate tiles and such like.
its a barsteward to gett off.
ive come acroos this sh i t many times usually on flowery paper in kitchens.
pva to seal and pva to adhere mate.
fcuk all that ,messing its the footy season.

its similar stuff but grey mate its too soft too scrape off if that makes sence and a couple of mm thick ....fcuck all that messing full stop i reckon im just gonna leavit fcuk it ;D
