its a painted ashlar render the paint is solid no signs of flaking or coming loose
was thinking about ways without taking it back to brick ? any of you lads applied like rendagrip to paint? if so did you scratch coat after then top coat or just one coat. this job will be a drydash so was thinking about bonding agent then top coat and hit. but would it need a scratch coat. ?

Always a dodgy one though mate as ultimately the final coat of paint is taking all the weight of the new render:RpS_unsure:

If your not sure the best bet is to use something like painter or hpx with a mesh pinned in a horizontal pattern

Always a risk on paint. The last layer of paint can fail. Pinning the mesh then it is like eml nailed on but a lighter version for a lighter and thinner version of render.

i thought this but you all know when it comes to the prices the dont want to pay. so bonding agent the scratch coat with scrim and pinned then top and hit. best option.

on a job the other day internal refurb and whoever done the roughcast previous had rendered sand and cement over painted brick and was all blown the whole way round the house about a metre up fu*** paint
