For hardie backer on a floor unsupported is not recommended im going straight on floor boards crack mate esier to work with got a few awkward cutsWhy ditra and not 6mm Hardie backer?

Ok cheers might give that a whirl thenBoth. Boards staggered, joints scrimmed, dub with Addy. Yoo can self level over the top if needs be before tiling .

Use decoupling membrane adhesive, you can use schulters own for the ditra if you want to follow full manufacturers spec or use ardex decoupling membrane adhesive both good
I didn't read the original questions as per usual. LolDo you find ditra better over floorboards Zol? More familiar with Hardie.
