Best course of action for internal damp

I'm looking for the best remedy for internal repairs to a family members property. Im 90% sure its penetrating damp and not rising damp. We've removed the chimney, got the roof repaired where needed and new windows fitted a year or so ago. I'm going to redo the render shortly so hoping all that solves the issue externally. When repairing internally I'm I better using limelite or similar or maybe batten and board the walls? As I imagine gypsum is a no go

I love limelite and use it often. As long as all penetrative damp issues are fixed you can’t really go wrong with it.

I was questioning myself whether it would work its magic quite as effectively with render on the externals, as it’s a breathable material…. But it I still think it would be a good shout with it’s anti-salt and thermal qualities
