Hi lads,

I was going to skim a small room in our house this week. I've taken the radiator off the wall and the skirting and on one of the internal walls behind the radiator the plaster at the bottom has started crumbling away. It's only at the very bottom of the wall and the rest seems pretty sound. Just wondering what you think the best course of action would be ?

Also a pic of plastering done in the main bedroom . Is this bad plastering or is it just because the the house is old and the walls aren't the best ? We paid to get this done btw but didn't realise how terrible it looked until after we'd finished painting it.

Cheers

Give over man, you know that's bad! Anyone with eyes does, just playing the bloody fool!!

Cheers for the replies - before painting we couldn't tell and we didn't end up painting it until a few months after, by which time money had already been exchanged.

We paid around £500 to board the ceiling and then skim the walls room size approx 5m x 4m.

The bit a bottom of wall you need to give a coat of pva then fill with thistle bonding before skimming. The light going across the wall in the bedroom isn’t helping but that looks bad mate. @John j this you?
I try to keep my strokes horizontal on window walls for this very reason

£500 quid well spent :LOL: ring the f**k*r up get him back on false pretences saying you want some other work doing! Then just say ooh by the way can you just have a look at the work you did in the other room and see his reaction embarrassing really.

Don't miss a trick do ya crispy ;) hey I been on the antibiotic eye drops for second day! God what a improvement! Thank god for the NHS(y)

Good to hear mate. Don’t forget your ear defenders too. I’ve got tinnitus...you don’t want that!

It's difficult to say with nothing to compare it to. Can you get wife to put her hand on the wall and take more of a close up?

@JessThePlasterer

Look like the plastering in my house to be honest shouldn’t really kick back cans whilst watching porn waiting for it to pick up.

Done that before.

Mate had a painting party once. Everyone got smashed and wrecked his house. Paint everywhere.
