wife thinks i gone mad , she been askin me for two years to sort this wall on the back of my house , so thought
i would have a bit of fun while doin it ;)

chucked on the mono (in two coats) late yesterday aft, marked out the design cutting back to first coat, scraped render back then took out the waste (the central piece was a night mare cause i was after leaving a 25mm wide circle in the centre) then some more left over mono (pale green) as a receiver and dashed in some Derby and barley corn chips i had left , pretty easy really , just time consuming but worth the bit of extra effort i think. Done a few bits like this around the yard , have a 6foot high breeze wall round the garden and my yard so practice all sorts off features and effects

Thanks Paul , i didnt know you could do that with mono , is it just a case of the right tool with a steady hand to cut it back cause thats quite a sharp angle ?

nice one, i like that warrior. i got that pargeting book off ebay yesterday. lots of wonderful photos in it. just need a wall to play with now.

Nice job Warrior, shows there could me more uses than the norm, perhaps Church could be on to something.

very nice, like you say warrior the method is pretty straight forward, but it takes a bit of finesse i've done some scribed lintels the same way, but i had a jig to cut around, so was probably easier than yours. top job.

Just out of interest what mono did you use Paul , ive done a fair bit of k rend but i dont know if its the photos , but it looks a bit finer than that stuff?

Really good, job well done!
Can't say I've used any bagged renders, I must get round to using it as you can achieve some excellent results in a short space of time.
How easy are they to use? Same as s&c then just scrape back when ready or is it a bit more involved?

Sorry couldn't resist ;D seriously it is nice to work with , and if any thing i would say it is slightly coarser than K rend Imo, but still well workable next day if done the afternoon before

I would say that that both renders have there pos and negs but the mono is quite flexible in that it is pre mixed so there are no variations in the mix and still workable 12+ hours later ( obviously temperature and relative humidity affects this) and is great for hand cutting , Ashlar etc. I do find mono easier than sand/cement "Just my opinion"
You could write a whole chapter on the pro's and con's but i think you have the general idea.

Well done Warriour, spot on, if you remember when that bloke from Wales was promoting that Flex stuff i said weve got it in Spain but it aint working cos the Spanish lads can do much the same with OCR at half the price and youve just shown what you can do .
