I was gonna post this as a reply to the plastic trowel thread, but I think it deserves a seperate bit.

A bit of positive thinking here - why not have Danny invite a product manufacturer onto here on a weekly basis. They can pitch their product, we can ask the questions. One product per week to start, Danny gets paid, we get to ask the manufacturer directly, plus the chance of some 'free trial' goodies ;D.....that kinda thing.

Like who? Refina are mtown are the big boys so will sell loads no matter what our opinions are. There can't be that many new inventions anyway, we've had the trowelhawk, the plastic skimming trowel and a new spat, the only new tool is nellys mystery object
 
I know an invention that hasn't been thought of yet. :-X
You can skim a wall without the need for a hawk 8)
 
not a bad idea bubbles, thinking along fair lines with benefits for all, not just a select few.
Simply paying a monthly fee and given the privelage of being able to publicise their product on the forum would achieve the same thing. It all comes down to moeny at the end of the day. Where people stand to benefit financially from direct publicity, and this forum is the target market for plastering tool manufacturers then its advertising. end of.
Theres various ways of 'paying'
Offering a batch of whatever new product is being publicised to the forum owner to use as competition prizes would be one way of attracting more people to the site, increasing the impact of the advertising itself. win/win.
Paying a small monthly fee to help pay for server costs.
One off payments to allow a full width banner to be placed within threads, linked to the adwords.
Though expecting to get away with it for free is just mugging danny off.
