Alright lads,
Posted a thread a week or so back about blown Weber Mono on a sand & cement scratch coat. Just been to have a good look at it and its the scratch coat thats come away from the blockwork underneath - the mono is stuck to it like sh1t to a blanket.
Any ideas why the scratch coat might have blown ? Ive never had it happen before.
I hacked off all the old render back to the blocks, EML'd where different substrates met, hosed it all down and applied a 4:1 mix with waterprooofer.
In places I had to lay it on really thick as the blocks were all over the place - could that be a factor in why its blown ?
Im going back to rectify it next week and was planning to start again from scratch, but rather than lay it on thick in one coat, I was going to build the scratch coat up in 3 or four passes, leaving a day in between each to make sure it pulls in ??
