BNI meetings

Anyone ever been to any BNI meeting before? Thinking of going with a couple of mates who are builders they get a few bit of work out it plus some decent contacts?

My Mate goes and gets lots of architects and designers to visit my workshop so its a win win for me and i dont have to get up early, theres pro's and con's for BNI you have to find each other work so can end up time consuming, but in general networking is good, its like everything you have to put the hard work and effort in to get the rewards, theres a lot of guys that are not proactive, trying new ideas and marketing themselves properly, so good on yer Spanky give it a go mate :RpS_thumbup:

I used to belong to our local branch for 3 years, i came out of it 2 years ago.B.N.I works on a saying, givers gain, if i give you buissness, you will want to give it back.For all the sceptics out there it really works.

I came out of it for 1 reason, i had 2 much work,It costs around £450 a year, plus £10 week for brekkie. Which considering the cost to the amount of work i got is mimimal. But it got to the point, BNI,website, van regulars etc i was subbing work out and when i averaged it out it was hastle for not enough return in my case.

The thing that put me off going to it was you are recomending people you dont know or work youve never seen ahead of people you do know, so it wasnt for me.

Oh yeah, and 1 of our menbers got done by trading standards because he signed of Corgi work done by other Gas fitters.Not really a issue if he checks the work, but T.S didnt see it that way.
