ok....i got to go price a job should just be a celing allready ripped down jusat showing the clean joists..

they will be havin spot lights put in..they will get a local spark in a.s.a.p..

will the spark just put tails in the celing and is it down to him 2 member were they are..or will i have 2 cut out each tail he leaves...as it will be so much better 4 me if i can just board and skim..

board and skim away, decent sparks will know where the spots are going. on the other hand its only polite to ask him what he would like you to do, works tight, i'd do as much as much as you can to earn a good reputation.

The cables should be left up, otherwise it's the spread's decision where the lights are positioned.

The sparky's we generally work with all prefer them left up but we did work with one right 'merchant banker' that had the apprentice sparkx clip short lengths of cable between the joists then tape the drops in exactly the right position. It seemed a funny configuration so we asked if it was correct, the pillock refused to come and check, insisting it was right, and that we were some sort of half wits if we couldn't understand it. You can guess the rest, anyway he asked us later if we wouldn't mind patching the ceiling up for him (for free!) while we had some stuff mixed in another room. Needless to say we declined but reskimmed the whole ceiling later at the builder's request, paid for by the sparky, who went looking for employment elsewhere.
