Hi - i have recently started plaster boarding a house i am renovating as much as possible myself. I have boarded but i do have some gaps between some boards in tight spaces, sometimes approx 1-2cm and at most approx 4cm. I also have some damaged boards where in fitting ceiling boards the edges have broken and crumbled. I have done a bit of research and read that these can be bonded or filled with expanding foam but i wanted to come and post the query on this forum to get some professional advice. Can anyone advise? I cant upload a pic because the image folder is full apparently?!

Well i know what your saying but i have boarded the whole house and done a 10 day plastering course to plaster it too - ambitious i hear you say, over ambitious even... but i think i have done OK for first time and any plastering that is too much i will get someone in.

Thanks for the info on using bond and scrim tape after, that makes good sense. Just to be clear do you mean bond the damaged boards and just scrim tape any gaps or bond and scrim tape any of the gaps and as usual would you scrim just before plastering?

well youve had ten days more than some people on here so well done................and i dont JUST mean you oasis ;)

yeh just fill with bonding or drywall adhesive and tape before you skim if you leave it a while pva the bonding it will give you a bit more time when you come to skim.

Thanks Flnnyman, that's great, i appreciate your advice. Hopefully 10 day training will be enough..?!
