Hi,

Newly registered on here I've just getting a phone call from a job I've been on for 5 weeks saying that the work me and my gang carried out is not up to scratch.......it's the last invoice payment I'm waiting for so no surprises there. I have been back to inspect the faults which are a p*** take. I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the bs5492:1990 I could look at just to check if what they are saying is correct.

Kind regards

are you doing site work or refurbing?

what was the faults?:)

Refurb mate, some hairline fractures where a whole in the wall was cut out after we had plastered it and then was boarded by the joiners. It seems like somehow the wall has been knocked to put torsion on the join in the boards to cause the fracture. And about 3 angles with excessive brush marks which I can hold my team responsible and have offered to sort out.

We have been on the job for 5 weeks with not one other problem with the work being inspected by the owner daily and by myself on a regular basis. Just seems like he is pulling a fast one on the last invoice.

Anyone been in a similar situation?

if it's something of nothing just put right,he has no excuse of holding ya money then.
