just done acouple of krend jobs for this builder he beads them up for me and uses

bell beads but im struggling when it comes to scratching back near the bead seems to dig in is there an easier method of scratching back near the bell bead cheers

tell me your not cuting it back to the bead when you scrape off?
put plenty of gear over your beards,i butter on a good 4mm , as soon as youve run the spat over, other wise it will halo. then when you scratch it back the material finishes inline with the ebb of the bead

If your using 20mm bells they are to big ,us the smaller ones ,i know some guys use stop beads so you don,t have to build it right out

15mms fine
problem with using stops, is that your defiying the purpose of the dpc, as if your using stops, water will track along the bead onto your dpc, hence why bellcasts are tapered off at the back.

no mate that bits perfect it's just the bell beads really havin a bit of mither

How big are the beads he's putting on?

As said above, source him some 15mm bellcast and tell him to use them instead.

What bell cast beads is he putting on for you? is it the plastic ones where the bell cast is actualy behind the bead so the face of the bead/rendered panel is flat(this is what he should be using) or is he using traditional metal bell cast beads? if so you could try scraping as low as you can without digging in then use an I section where the bell cast kicks out?

yes hes using the normal big bell beads but hes a arse can't fookin tell him anything you know what there like fookin know it alls but he gives me a lot of work so i don't say to much

dont use a scrape float if you are trying to form a bell bottom in the wall use the I section and an old spat

Scratch pads a no no on bells like you say, I section much better at forming a consistent curve. Al part of the I sectioning process. Think of the I section as a dry rule. A second chance to get mint. Any mono job off just pads is half a job. Don't forget to brush off last. A short spat is as important as the nail pad in getting the job done right.
