i use buildbase but i have had a letter the other day threatening me with legal action if i dont pay the £59.71 i owe them. i'v owed them this for 2 months maybe.

i was hoping to skip the country like and not pay it.

but im going down there in 30 mins to give them their monies and tell them they charge too much for skim £4.05 only £3.35 at magnet, i mean come on whats 60 quid to a firm like that.
things must be harder than we thought.

its not the point mate, you owe them money so you have to pay it. you knew the price before you took the goods so pay up !!

Imagine how you'd feel if were owed £59.71 by someone you had supplied a service to >:(
If one in a hundred of their customers owed them that amount just think how much that would add up to :o

i pay £4 a bag! am im ment to be set up well! what is every ones best price from travis perkins on M.F????

£4.75+vat from builbase on my account had the rep from magnet around yesterday so I've set up an account with them supposed to be on a good deal with builbase it isn't until u start checking prices u see u r been ripped off not happy with them

Working at a customers house all week and they have given me a float to pay for materials and the same depot as what I use they get the plaster over £1 cheaper than me and they arnt even in the trade. What's all that about? I'm bloody mad

with merchants what you are paying the extra for is the free delivery and the 30 days free credit. its usally cheaper to go to b&q for small domestic jobs but when your ordering £5,000 worth at a time the 30 days credit comes in handy

fact is mate i have used them for years, never owed them money for long periods of time always pay up. a phone call saying "could you pop down and pay your account up" would have been met with yeah no probs,
but a letter threatening legal action over best part of £60 sheets is a bit extreme

its just a standard letter mate, magnet are cheap on MF, down here its 3.25 but the manager was saying its a loss leader and they don't deliver around here but i have an account so i still get 30 days on that price. When it comes to merchants you have to ring them all and play them against each other. If your ordering 5 pallets of hardwall and a couple of multi then you can screw them right down but if its only a few bags you got no chance because I'm afraid its the guy who only wants 10 bags who has to subsidize me ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
