since the recession a few builders have taken their hands to tacking and drylinging to save money.

thats all well and good except ive had loose joints on ceilings, holes big enough for an elephant. pissed and out square reveals.and my favourite this week 9.5mm on a 600mm centre stud.

they wonder why we moan?

Always allow for a bit of time if someone else is doing the boardwork, it never, EVER seems to be right:RpS_thumbup:

i started work for a builder i know today first job but ive known him for years and i have to say the board work and general quality of work was excellent:RpS_thumbsup:

...another reason the trade is on its arse....two bit builders thinking they know it all, nickin our work...

How ironic, went to look at a job today and the boarding is absolutely horrendous, the worst I have ever seen, all the Walls have been framed with 2x2 and sheeted but the frames haven't been fixed to the walls only nailed to the floor and ceilin! Bouncin all over. The Walls are 9 ft high and 8x4s have been used ( why not 3m sheets?) so there is a foot cutting at the top, but no noggins, gaps between boards you could put your fingers thru, some Walls have been dabbed but there is more drywall on the face of the board than behind it! The house was an unfinished refurb that got repossessed, now this poor c**t has bought it! He said on the fone to me it's all good to go, FFs wot a shambles

I done a job few months ago for a local builder. shocking boarding with srew heads sticking out all over pissed cuts and just generally shoddy work, he even beaded up for me whch was even worse, beads cut short not meeting ect and used DOUBLE SIDED STICKY TAPE to fix em!!:RpS_lol: took me hours to re bead and get boarding ready to skim, Joker

The problem is there arent skimming the boardwork so they dont care....... IMO
Aint that the truth,i did one a few months ago screws sticking out and boards hanging over reveals so had to be trimmed back to allow for the beads, just no thought put into it.

the old guy who i learned off told my years ago that nobody will board as good as the person who has to skim over it!!!
