Buy a new home or a old one

On fence on this. Plot old council house and just seem to be forever decorating . If a new build was well done i would go for new build

New or old, but if I had my way it'd be in the middle of nowhere on the side of a rugged mountain valley with plenty of trees. So far from civilisation it'd have to be Canada or the USA as there just isn't anywhere isolated enough in the UK.

Buy a new home or a old one
gman living off grid.

Which do you have ,i cannot get any work so cleaning old home f**k me the dust.

Theve both got good and bad points Andy.
We've bought an old house but spent over £30 grand modernising it.
That was just the building work.
Plastered and painted my self.
Garden new front door finishing etc still adding up.
New builds have alot more advantages if I'm honest....and less hassle...but with no gardens no pubs or shops....it's hard to say.
Good and bad in both
This old house has character plenty of big rooms and biggish garden.
Last house we had ..had underfloor heating....wasn't near as warm as my brother's new build without the heating on and that's a 5 bed 3 story.

We have a new build its a 5 bed detached with double garage.

Doesn't owe us a penny to have bought same size old house then to have to start ripping out 4 bathroom, kitchen, utility, built in wardrobes and rip out all the woodwork, sort electrics, plumbing, roof, soffit etc and start again would have been a money pit in an old property.

There so well insulated and heating efficient, can get 4 cars on our drive and more than generous for what we want garden plot wise as an end house from a good local building firm.

Like most things there's good and bad and have to look around but personally for someone in the building game that doesn't want to spend all there free time renovating and diy there a God send.

Tbf I don't even decorate we get painters in when we go on holidays fook that!
