Can someone advice the most cost effective way to soundproof a party wall on a terrac

Over stick the walls with soundbloc boards is an option.

Problem often is the stairs ,airborne noise I take is the main problem, if you are leaving existing plaster on you could stick sound board on to the wall, if you had room, a false wall would be great at deadening the noise, give us some more details so that we can give advice that suits

Dot & dab with soundshield boards I'd say, they're really quite good, blue grit the existing plaster, dot &dab, skim, put skirts back on simples. No need to hack off if u don't want to! Done it quite a few times to good effect!

The customers says she can hear the dog barking next door.tricky one as it needs to be done right to achieve the sound block

hack it off.............float n set ...........hardwall is a soundcoat. 2 days work. £30.0000 should about do it mate.

If you decide to go the studded wall way dont drill into the party wall to fix your stud as this creates a way for the sound to travel.

stud it with acoustic roll in the stud and board it with sound block.
