Hi guys

just passed my test and was wondering if any of you have an idea of a small engined car that would be cheap to insure but okay for getting my tools from a to b.

I have a work flat back truck which i can use for big things such as plasterboards but just need a little run around.

Only 21 which is where my dilemma is.

Cheers Hackney

Speaking on @Marshy behalf , land rover :RpS_thumbsup: what about a small engine van?

If you only just passed your test, I dont think anything will be cheap to insure, may be best to go the way my kids have gone get parents to insure with you as named driver on policy till u build up some no claims

Second that. Even if you find and old fiat panda which is less than 1000cc it will still be big on insurance

No way round it. Pay up. Get what you want within reason and pay it. I did the whole insure on a named policy thing for years. 28 now and costs me 2.5k a year to insure my van :( no claims is priceless. So dive in the deep end and get it over with

Holy Hell!!!! is it a gold played van or something?

Go the classic car route so, buy a classic Landy or vw etc you will get much better quotes but, then again it depends how much you want to spend. Have a look at Nissan Almera as well a 1.4 cheap parts and low insurance group for there type and, like the Micra will run for ever if serviced regular.

Yeah get a classic and what you save on insurance you will pay on repairs and road tax....lol

Buy a van doesnt have to be massive and just claim it back from your tax...

In order to do that the parent now has to own the car

Theyve always had to own it, never could legally insure yourself as the main driver of a car unless you owned it.

well has been that was since i passed in 2000 anyway

do it for him ryan you know all his personal details, inside leg and all that:RpS_thumbup:
