Any advice how to float a thermalite block wall with a plastic cavity closure running down it. Plastic not too good for hard wall me thinks?

Good idea Art that's a lot easier than opening a bucket of grit:RpS_unsure:
PMSL.........sorry marra didnt realise you were the only bloke on here with an idea............is it the time off the month for you....:RpS_scared:

It always is!
So is it just an idea or is it what you actually do? If it is what you do, why do you go to that trouble rather than just use Blue Grit, WBA or Thistle Bondit.
And that's not me being moody coz I've just kicked the cat to get it out of my system, I'm genuinely interested to know why people come to different conclusions to the same questions.

ive only ever bonded cavity closers once and someone else on the job had some slurry knocked up thats all..........clearly if you got some WBA etc in the van i agree its quicker and does the same job.................i still think your whoremonal............:flapper:

Are we talking about reveals here?

If so, I just dot them, staple a skim bead on, then rough the face of the wall.

Those things move independently of the wall cause cracking "sometimes".

Pull the c-closer off, roll up/twist a load of empty browning bags and stuff the cavity with them then dab some browning over, cover with some hessian scrim cloth, bit more browning and scratch through it. Float it the next day :RpS_thumbup:

Cheers for the advise, the stuff it full of old hard wall bags is what I have done for years too , get the old foam gun out and top it off nowadays then saw it next morning and of you go. But probably dot and dab these as there's people paying attention!
