Encountered a problem the other day that i haven't seen before.I had a small bedroom to plaster.Thought to myself it was small enough to put on in one go,which it was ;D.The only problem was when i went to flatten off my first coat,the plaster was falling off in big bubbles.I had to scrape the whole ceiling off 
.After further inspection it looked as if the ceiling had a thin coat of what looked to be some sort of filler across the whole ceiling under the paint.My question is as i have another two bedrooms to do for this person is 1; Is there anyway to find out if the other ceilings are the same. or 2;is there anything that i can apply to the ceiling first to stablealise it?
forgot to mention i'd pva'd all the bedroom first!!
