i have to skim a celing tomorrow and the ceiling has a curve in it the full length of the window all how easy or how hard is it to skim a curve.

Easy enough if you can skim a flat ceiling you should be sound.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy......
I put the curve on first then work to it and away from it,giving it time to go off abit square up the rest of the ceiling and keep the curve hanging.Then bring it back to life with brush and water in the later stages.DO NOT PLAY WITH IT !!!!!!
If theres any inperfections fill em with a bit of fat.
Let it go off and hard polish bobs ur uncle.

im not being argumentative here ...BUT.....
shouldnt bring plaster back to life with a brush......filling imperfections with fat will look poo.....
By curve do u mean a barreled ceiling?..if so me personally i start with the barrell, either oull or push stroke for that area and work along curve with same stroke all the way then hit rest of ceiling, come back to barrel take your time and get it right.......i never use a spong or brush on a barrel at 1st coat or near finish as if near a window itll show marks and look poo...as stated......then again we all have different ways of doing thing not having a dig...just hate people "bring plaster back to life..."

phippsy the G** is correct, fat Will weak and not harden as it should, the best way is to get some thistle bonding and form your curve with that, let it go hard and then skim the ceiling and curve. if you use a spat to bring your curve round it Will make things easier , no doubt some w**k*r will disagree

If its like this one, just go with the flow. I agree with putting it on first and bonding it (if required) Leave it until its about as tacky as when you twitch wet angles then just carry on as normal.

think "simplytheoldest" has got confused..as it sounded like the curve/barrel has already been formed and thus only need for a skim......
.be smooth and take your time with them. Bit like making love to a beautiful lady.
