Cement board fixing

I knocked the front of a house off the other day and it needed 4 new lintels so a builder has been down and done his stuff but has used steel lintels and left them recessed about 30mm. Is it possible to use no more nails with aqua panel onto the steel to build it out enough to get a poly modded scratch to make it flush with the brickwork?
Any advice appreciated as there is no mention of this type of fixing on the knauf technical literature.

Thanks Keith. Good to know mate (y) Like you say it's hard to see another way. HPX on it with a scratch and should be good to go.

Would not normally recommend bonding Knauf Aquapanel Exterior, it needs a fixing to the framework really....

Usually recommend fixing battens or a lining system to a lintel somewhere or some how, then fixing to that.

If it is a direct line to the lintel, bond to position with a suitable exterior adhesive (maybe the base coat / adhesives as for the ewi) Let it dry then drill through these points into the lintel and fix through these points directly to the lintel

Good luck
