Read a few people on here say you can making bonding skimmable in 45 mins by adding cement, I got to use half a bag of bonding tomorrow how much cement in that to make it go off that quick?

A double handful if u want it to go really quick, though a single good handful should be more than enough for a half bucket. Put it on a spot board instead of scooping it out bucket (if you don't already) for bonding is a ballix to clean out if it starts to set in the bucket.

Just in case you don't know, to give the cement a quick stir around before u put the bonding in, mixed through better and more evenly

Very true - I've had a few buckets lost to bonding

Had an old bag of cement in van and went to do a quick skimming job after work in 2007. Was getting 300euro for it. Put 2 handfuls of cement into the skim so it would go of quicker. Turns out the f**k**g cement was hardish lumps and when I went to skim it, it was all over the wall pulling lines. Had to scrap it all off and mix up another batch and added an extra hour onto the job. Was there to 9 o'clock at night ffs.

Over mix a little as well , sort of a extra 2 mins with the whisk knock it right in together it also will help it pick it up a little quicker.

Usually about 30 mins ready to skim

Do quite a few fireplaces like this, had this one bonded out, skimmed and out the door in less than 3 hours.

I had to patch tracks in the kitchen, the fella waited til I'd finished then said that the hole for the extractor fan was to be done too. Was couple handfuls of cement with a handful of bonding, and same with the skim.trowled once and shined away in 15-20mins.w**k*r could have told me when he was standing watching me.
