has any one used cementone stableliser prior to plastering? i`ve had nothing but problems skimming onto this.it goes off like feck.bone dry 30 mins after laying on,also crack`s.looked at a job last week and told the builder not to use it as i spotted a tub on the floor.turned up to skim a 3 bed house a week later and he had painted the whole house with it.told him i was`nt interested in doing the job.
i use blue grit and never have any problems at all.

get him to use Knauf Betakontakt, it's about £55-£60 a tub and covers 60-80m dependant on background. Dont water it down though it defeats the function of the product.I will be ordering some micro gobetis soon to give that a go too by recommendation from the forum regulars.

Had same problem my lad painted it on a artex ceiling that had never been painted and went off like .... Had to 3 coat it to sort it , and have used it over a silk painted wall and it was ok ,any porus surfaces need a sbr first then the green on top ,personally use pre grit or blue grit as a lot cheaper and better

i would of told him 2 go and do 1 .same old builders try and tell us how 2 suck eggs and then it all goes tits up 4them muppets

I used it a few times, once over an old rendered chimney breast, which had the same problem you found.
Second time was over a painted wall which I was able to rub off with very little effort 24 hours later.
Never again!

Been using 'Wikes bonding agent' and haven't had any problems with that as of yet! think its £17 for a 5L tub
