How is it any **** in their car with their brand new tools and not a f'in clue can keep busy??? Kidding on they're the real deal. Gets on my F'in nerves! Rant over!! **** week.
 
Once worked with a guy who said a " good line in bull shittt was better than having two trades " that's your answer...
 
Spewing shoit from every orifice! It's like they wake up and think hmmmm right I'm going to be a plasterer. Bit of bullshit later they've landed a big job and with the help of a friendly forum, a few stupid questions later they're away.
 
Price I quoted for a a full house re skim came in at 2k the guy accepted a quote for 700 off someone else. Told him I would see him in 2 weeks when I'm asked to do it all again for him
 
Does anyone know of an ex spread that managed to escape this trade and do well for themselves? Just curious because everyone I speak to says they've been trying to get out of it for years but they're trapped.

I know a couple, one is very well off but does roofing jobs now too ,a big multi tasker in his sixties now, knocked plastering on the head at 26 for the most part..
another guy was avery successful builder but oddly went back spreading?
 
Yes I know a few too do not and will not plaster but one of them is still into property development. I too had a break from it did well in what i was doing (working for a big company) but, got sick of attending meetings, manager speak, and so much bullshit and came back to this !!! seemed like a good idea at the time but must admit that 90% of the time i am much happier now than i was.

It's good to hear success stories beyond plastering. Never be a millionaire in this game.

Funny you should say that my mate who i used to work with got off the tools and landed a job with a big render company in sales. He's doin really well promotion after promotion, really nice company car, big salary and he phoned me the other day saying he can't take much more of the bullshit and brown nosing that goes on and he's seriously considering coming back on the tools! Said he's just not happy. He must be fookin mad!

Then your managing the numpty's I'm talkin about. Takin **** for their mistakes. I'm looking into importing bikes and bike parts. eBay business. Bikes have gone massive the last few years. Never know if I don't try :-D

A old friend of mine has an ebay business, he lives in Japan now, his business is selling high performance brake kits etc, gets them fabricated in Japan and ships world wide..

personally though I wouldn't want an ebay buisiness as ebay are completely on the customers 90% of the time, fckin nightmare..

if you wanted to look into it seriously could put you in touch with him maybe his suppliers might be able to help ..

Agree completely, folk will always be swayed towards the smooth talker. If you can back it up with good work youve got it made.

Have a look at amazon buddy :-) I think they will be around longer and you have more security with amazon

I made a lot of money breaking old minis and selling the parts on ebay :-)

Anyone can break away from the trade but nothing is easy :D

Whatever game you're in these days, the chancers are trying to muscle in on the action!

At least with plastering you do actually have to do some work ... and that puts most off!

Of all the jobs I see each year, there are maybe 1 or 2 I don't get, and I put this high strike rate down to a fine blend of price, reputation & good old fashioned bullshit. :RpS_thumbup:
 
i a had a pubfor a few years bought the lease and f&f for 12k had a good life earning good money ,managed to sell the lease for 70k before things went tits up in the trade, got **** all now
