Looking for the cheapest place to set up an account in near to Liverpool, wanting heavy discount will be getting 4 or 5 pallets, I know sutty who I starte with used to get a bag of multi for £1!!

Cheers

must have been a long time ago spanky, to get a bag of multi for a quid, even if you got 20 palletts ,just can not see it for a quid

About 9 or 10 year ago like, but it was the volume he was getting, he had 250 odd spreads, must have been getting a fair few pallets a day, I'm not expecting to get anywhere near £1, just wanting to get it as cheap as poss as the prices are shocking on this job as is so need to penny pinch where I can :), Rossi you recon keels is cheap for plaster as they specialise in it? B an q where the cheapest retail at £4.40 but they gone up now

it was never a quid a bag 9/10 years ago spanky even buying 20 palletts a day,as for employing 250 spreads ,never in creation just dont believe it, think of the ammount of work you would need to keep 250 plasterers going, even when times were good the biggest plastering company in the country would never employ 250, the biggest plastering company round here employed at the most 15 but they are gone now, think your pals telling you porkies , anyhoooo back on planet earth the best and most consistent price for plaster is wickes:RpS_thumbsup:

Keel isn't that cheap. Try dining them, Sheffield insulations, ccf, see what they come back with. Plaster isn't really much of a variant though your beads and unibond etc is where you save yourself. Try R and J building supplies for that sort of stuff

well i will go to the foot of my stairs, just had a look at there website spanky certainly look a big company, if indeed they do employ 250 plasterers good luck to them, seems like a nightmare to me all those vans to tax/insure/maintain/fuel etc, keeping all those lads in work, problems on sites/weather holdups/ other trades holding you up, good luck to them , too much stress for me, still wont be paying a quid a bag for multi though spanky not now or 10 years ago.

Haha 'well go to my gate' doubt he has that many now like, they were all self emolyed don't think he had anyone cards in, I can confirm however that he did get then for £1 a bag as I used to use his account for forigners, I remember them being as cheap as £3 odd a bag retail so it's not that much of a stretch..

Anyways rung a couple of builders before and the best I got was £4 + vat from travis of all places!! Well got to my gate! I have always thought of travis as robbing bastards! Will keep trying and will let you all know my findings :-)

Travis own Wickes..

magnets, i was getting it at 3 quid a bag couple of months ago. 8x4 plasterboards were £2.50 aswell.
in fact one day we went in and got a free bacon roll, coffee, hat, jumper, and thermos mug................result

yeah the one round here had a warehouse with building materials out the back aswell, most of them do plaster dab bonding hardwall, beads boards and the like as replastering usually comes hand in hand with kitchen re fits

Think unifinish will be comin down in price soon...:RpS_wink: two bags for a quid?:RpS_laugh:

yes £4 plus vat is £4.80 and £4.50 plus is £5.40.

Schooling as well hey John ;-), if they can't work out what 20% is then they ******! Being SEed... It's not the most mentally challenging of trades all you need to know from numeracy is pretty much 20 percentages and how to add and subtract that from an amount :RpS_thumbsup:

I knew a plaster who used to do metre rates and got mixed up with yards/metres. costly mistake or profitable depending on how you priced
/measured

But do you know how to add the 20% back on that has been deducted, to get your top line?

divide by four then add the result to the amount you got paid gives you the before tax amount:RpS_thumbup:

yes to get the 25% youll have to work out what 25% is haha so u will have to divide by four anyway then add it on haha.
your just changing my words ya barst
no longer or no shorter

or or or get 50% of whats in your hand then 50% of that again then add the 50% of the original 50% to the original amount before you took the first 50% and that will give you the answer:flapper:
