I want to put up a sign at a rendering job I am doing, not sure what the correct wording would be, External rendering (carried out) by..... or External render (carried out) by...
Yeh I know render is a verb and rendering a noun, I am still not sure which one is right.

Are you a very good looking man by any chance? Muscular yet modest? Very easy to get along with and in possession of a great sense of humour?....Ginger beard?

Think it’s the other way around

Rendering is a verb, it’s a doing word that can have a past, present and future tense.

Render is the noun. The thing.

So just decide if you want your sign to say you are ‘doing’ or if you’re simply stating the ‘thing’ and then by whom

@imago is your man, his posts are always grammatically correct and he has a very well structured prose. Mine on the other hand can be a tad lapsidasial ....like here.

The verb/noun issue is as @JessThePlasterer said, but personally I think either would be a bit clunky grammatically when followed by "carried out".

I'd put either "External wall finishes" or "External render finishes", and drop carried out. I'd go with either "External render/wall finishes applied." or "External render/wall finishes." people will know you're advertising the service.

Finally someone replying to the point
Are you sure regarding the verb/noun point?

It's just that it's the kind of question that a very good looking man with a ginger beard would ask. The sort of man who's easy to get along with, is great crack, starts amazing threads on a Friday evening and possibly has a bald head.

Are you that sort of a man?
