coving and finish

after doing a ceiling re skim were the ceiling has coving, you usually get the brush or plaster around the first inch or so of the coving yea? well when painting this i usually find a quick sand and a few coats of paint job done well on to days job for some reason the plaster kept staining frew my paint? anyone else had this?

Sounds like you polished the skim up to much. It's a real t**t to cover when you do that.

Staining?

What stain? Water, nicotine, or was it like painting over pva?
If it's a yellow stain use stain block then paint again or if it's like painting on patchy pva just give it more paint.
Did you get pva on the coving?

What did it look like??

Does sound like pva. Bit of masking tape round coving saves a lot of time
