Alright lads new to board ,and on for some advice ,just coved a kitchen that i have skimmed , and i have noticed the cove is coming away ,now it was fixed onto fresh painted walls and ceiling and i used gyproc cove adhesive ,mix was perfect ,so spoke to other plasterers and they said its happened to them before as well.
I dont know if dry wall adhesive is maybe the answer or pva walls and ceiling before coving THOUGHTS?

hi mate last time i put coving up on freshly skimmed walls i used dry wall adhesive its stayed up there and not had any probs in the past

BG cove adhesive doesn't stick to paint. Scratch it up with something prior to fixing and put a few brads in just in case. I always tell the builders not to let the painters in before I have coved, or get them to leave a margin for the adhesive to bond to.

I will only use BG cove adhesive because it is finer than the other brands and is useable for a good hour and a half. Drywall adhesive, even though it does the job, is brittle as f***, and is a coarser material too.

if the plaster has dried right out u need to soak it in again . if you don't it will dry the adhesive out to quick and not really take, diamond key ceiling and walls with a stanley as well, i all so nail it here and there with a tackwise gun.

So i gather on applying coving to bare skimmed(not painted) walls all it needs is scratched and pva
