Do you have the shake bag for the tartar, it only lets out a set amount on each shake, do a search here on the bag, been covered dozens of times

Its just like a normal set. We did a couple of 65m ceilings a while back and was expecting to be on a round robin from start to finish but we had abit of time between trowels

liar in the link asif posted you said you used it for the first time on a couple of 50m2 lids now your saying they were 65m2 youve just added an extra 30m2. thus i deduce that your pants must be on fire

because you said a couple of 50s in the linked post giving you a total of 100m2 and in this post you said a couple of 65s giving you a total of 130m2 this gives you a difference of 30m2, so not only can northerners not use angle trowels but they cant count either

then the fire is coming from the std you have, so i start again and say liar liar...........bo-llocks on fire

your right i did lie, what i actually did was do 6 hits and joined them all together cos im getting really good at joining ceilings now...................:RpS_thumbup:

thats another lie we all know its mcfatarm that joins ceilings because he cannot cover the areas

Arti so u said it was jus like a normal set , but a bit more time between troweling ? How could you gain extra time but it set normally :-s does it hang around more before picking up do u mean ? Then sets quicker or like gives u a extra 30 mins

@CTPlastering it slows the setting time, so it will take longer for the whole hit to change colour. It gives you more time at every stage of the hit, from laying in to final trowel. It doesn't make any difference to the finished surface as some say or make it weaker, it just sets slower.

But why anyone would want to use it for normal sized hits is beyond me. There are far more occasions where I want the plaster to set quicker than when I want to slow it down.

i gave this a go today an a ceiling about 40m2 over artex and new boards, i put one tea spoon full in each mix (one gorilla tub about 1 1/3 bags of mf) for 3 mixes first coat. flattened it had a coffee...... then another one.......and got scared that i was gonna be there all day so i didnt put any in the second coat.
i never double up straight away (especially over artex)
set took just over 3 hours turned out good,It deffo made things easier and i would say even tho i didnt put it in the second coat things seemed a lot easier.
I know i take the piss out these things but at the same time i cant resist trying them.

just piss in the mix
