Passed the health and safety test this morning which took me all of 6 minutes, £17.50 thank you very much, not bragging but it is that easy, expecting to be given a card to prove i have passed which is what i need to get access to this particular site, no sorry stopped that last December all this is now is a stepping stone to the trade card, looks like that has bolloxed me up and to top it had to turn my phone of to take the test and missed out on a call for a nice run of work and top money time i got back to the bloke he had given it to someone else.

Who exactly did you pay this tax too mate?

That works out at around £175 per hour someone is making, seems like issueing these pointless bits of bling is a rather prfitable endevour to me.

Charity my fat arse!

They are an international agency, with some rather large and lucrative afiliates including Microsoft and Sun
oh and 2500 employees.

Link Removed

Does anyone else find it rather sinister that they have described themselves as a charity?

Who compelled them to say this? And why the need to hide the fact they are a massive company?

Anyway

Here is a passage on their website about their CEO a Mr Michael brannick

Michael joined Prometric as president and chief executive officer in May 2001. He manages all operations of the 3000 person, multi-national company, including a global technology infrastructure, test center network and the delivery of over seven million certification, or licensure examinations each year.

17 million tests eh? at £17.50 a go.

Thats 297.5 miilion quid - each year!

Thats a pretty impressive income stream for a charity is it not?

Thats £297 500 000

Sorry just realised I cocked up my maths, this "charity" are making nearly 300 million quid each year

To be honest lucius why did you think you were getting a card at the end of it? There is a thread on here 20 pages long which explains what the card is and how to obtain one, if i remember right you said your mates got a H&S card and never been asked or they just make a number up. Well that was a load of bollox, if i was you i would get on the blower to this so called mate and tell him he is full of s**t for passing on false information.

Actually yeah and had a bad experience with them because of my partner at the time..................hence 'at the time'.

I live close to Phil, my window cleaner said they have layed loads of lads off last year, my window cleaner is like the local news centre he knows everything about everyone.

The only good thing about working for them was I invented my new tool, on one of their jobs.

yeah what is it. spill the beans. is it a bucket with a tap at the bottom so u mix up, stick the bucket on your spot and open the tap to fill your hawk, is it a tapucket?

Only met two other lads one looked like him out of jacobs ladder, actually I think his mate was called Alan, from wigan I think.

I was making it pay quite well but my mate, was struggling, and f*cking it up left right and center, but because I was working so hard I neglected to keep an eye on him properly,so because I was in charge, ultimately the blame lay with me, which I reluctantly have to accept.

Well actually thats a long and intricate argument - management versus employees.

On the tool front - I'm close, but its a pain in the arse....too much admin and agro for me, but its a 20 year old story

Fancy being a tester?................ are you still local to me?

Didnt realy look at the thread as i never had any probs last year, at the induction on both sites last year you just filled a form in and everybody left the bit where you filled the CSCS number blank and no more was said.
Anyway my mate contacted the company who i am waiting to start with and they said they will accept the pass certificate to let me onsite whenever that will be and just get the labourers card that will be good enough for them, so its all bollox

Every now and again though Flynnyman there is the odd site manager who knows what's what and needs his job done and doesn't give tosh about (The man) red tape. By the way i'm a decade into CSCS, it seems silly and doesn't work
