Alright fellas

Whats the best way to damp proof a basement on the cheap?
Ive got a mate that wants it doing so he can use it cos at the moment anything he stores down there goes mouldy.

;D.......im probably wrong but i'd give it two coats of sbr slurry and render with plenty of waterproofer .....dont skim it

Ive been looking into sbr.
I remember reading a big article on it on the ukspreads web site.

Is that the cheapest way?

Why cant you skim it?

you probably could although bear in mind it isnt suitable for damp conditions plus theres the extra cost in doing it , just float the top coat mate

Cheers spunk

Im not too worried about the labour costs as its a mate. I just want to do the best job that i can for him.

if the rooms ventilated and has some heating you could probably skim it mate
the next one up especially if the walls are peesed would be to use treated timber, insulation block and foil back board
;D ;D ;D......call me what you like mate :-*
