They are seperate trades, but do any of you do them both? I personally was never taught, but could be something to look into.

If a customer calls you to go and have a look and you realise there's damp problems, do you give it a go yourself or advse to get a specialist in?

Damp Sams got the right idea. 10 holidays a year . Minted. Confuses customers with his damp knowledge then needlessly injects their walls and skims same day lol

£££££££

I.ll advise but tell em get a expert( covers my back as well) joiners seem to know best solutions ......wankers

I literally have more chance of flying a space shuttle than diagnosing damp, have no idea and couldn't give less of a f**k either. Not my job!

Same, I don't f**k about with damp always tell em get a professional damp company in
Yip then say what did they advise and how much . The price will be stupid then that when i.ll say well i can do that for less but still a very goid price

Had bit of damp tide mark cross top of skirting in old house. One firm came out with his magic buzzer . Buzzed on every wall nearly .
Yeah damp 4 grand . Bear in mind this was 15 years back.
Second bloke . Got little bit near door . Rests down to plaster being to close to concrete floor and chimney needs capping cost bout 300 in end just for some one to do chimney . And got cash through insurance as blamed some stuff on that earth quake we had

Dunno how some people sleep at night, absolutely disgusting, I feel bad taking a few hundred quid home for an honest days work sometimes! To literally rob someone with complete bullshit though, hate people so much some times!

No such thing as a damp meter but there is such a thing as a moisture reader for measuring how much moisture there is in timber .........oh yes they are the same thing ,

Makes sense . But in my old house you could of put moisture reader on rads and it would of beeped

Damp is a construction problem not a plasteres problem.
Half a metre of damp proof won't help at all...might hold it back until you get paid
But will never solve water coming through.

Baffles me till this day how we use water proof in renders......when it's the blocks/bricks that cause the suction :sorprendido3::sorprendido3::sorprendido3:
