Got a job to do, the original skye marble on the house is sound so do you think it would be okay to just to dash over existing (will power wash it all down first) without using a bonding agent? the guy is getting new windows in so going to renew cills as they are poorly installed and use wider ones for better overhang and also redo reveals and put bands round windows to hide any destruction from new cills, not sure if i'll need to put a wee skim over existing to flatten it before putting on reciever and hitting? what d'ya think? thanks.

Yer as Warrior says give it a coat over to flatten it and then the receiver. What about suction on the existing dash? do a trial area first.

If you want to kill the suction on the cheap and you have no conscience try wetting it down with Daz or Persil in the water. Washing up liquid works but not as well. I did it in 1983 and it was still there 3 years ago when I last looked.

What would you scratch it with? uf base be fine or s+c if he isn't wanting to buy uf ? thanks for replies..

If he don't want to spend the money (usual case) modify some sand and cement , you have a good key, it's just the suction you gonna wath out for , make sure you treat it as well to kill any nasties
