What the difference between a 3.1 sand/cement/waterproofer mix and renovating plaster when being used on a wall which has just had a damproof course?

Basically in what situation would you use renovating plaster over a 3.1 with waterproofer?

its realy down 2 what it says on the 30 year garentee.renovating plaster is more expensive.but sand n cement is just as good.when i wis doing damp coarse.plaster work. wee had 2 use limelight cos thats what wis on the spec along with remtox 4 the drill and injecting.

So theres no difference apart from one is factory mixed pre bagged so quicker?

Dri coat from gypsum can be skimmed the same day so although alot more expensive than sand and cement it gets the job done alot quicker

there is a difference. Sand & cement is more dense as Limelite has no sand instead it has vermiculite as an aggregate. S&C will attract condensation as it is cold. Limelite acts as an insulater so you avoid condensation issues. Both are waterproof. Limelite cracks though if rushed. Best done as two coats over 2 days and let dry out before skimming. The benefits outweigh the extra cost.
